1. The US Federal Reserve has kept interest rates unchanged, and notably removed the word "patient" from its post-meeting statement. 

2. Labor MP Peter Khalil has said that his party should support the Coalition's income tax cuts in full if the government remains unwilling to split the legislation. The Australian reported that some Labor frontbenchers also agree with Khalil's stance.

3. NAB's Chief Customer Officer Anthony Healy has described Facebook's plan to launch its own cryptocurrency and digital wallet as a "serious threat".

4. The Dow Jones rose 0.15% overnight to 26,504.00, the S&P 500 gained 0.30% to 2,926.46 and the Nasdaq moved 0.42% higher to 7,987.32.
