5 things you need to know today

1. Industry super funds are expected to hold $800 billion in assets in 2020, overtaking self-managed super funds which will hold $795 million according to projections by Rice Warner cited by the AFR.

2. Wall Street stocks have continued their upward climb this week, which saw the Dow Jones have its third consecutive day of rises after it closed 1.09% higher. Meanwhile the S&P 500 ended the day 0.97% higher and the Nasdaq rose by 1.1%.

3. Trade talks between the United States and China in Beijing have been extended for a third day, with Donald Trump commenting on Twitter that "Talks with China are going very well!"

4. Flights from Heathrow Airport were grounded for about an hour in response to a sighting of a drone nearby. Around 1,000 flights were cancelled last month after drones were sighted near Gatwick airport.

5. Scott Morrison has been caught up in 'shoegate' after a photograph of the PM on his official website appears to show a new pair of white shoes edited over his actual shoes.
