1. The ASX is expected to open higher this morning in response to a strong rally on Wall Street last Friday which saw the S&P 500 close 3.4% higher, while the Dow Jones rose 3.3% and the Nasdaq rose 4.3%.

2. Donald Trump has threatened to declare a national emergency that would see military funding used to build a wall between the United States and Mexico.

3. US and Chinese officials will meet in Beijing today and tomorrow to discuss trade. The truce between the two countries is currently set to run out on March 2.

4. A Saudi woman travelling to Australia to seek asylum is currently being held at Bangkok airport and has claimed she will be killed by her family if she is sent back home.

5. The Socceroos have suffered a 0-1 loss against Jordan in the opening match of the Asian Cup.
