3. October is set to be the worst month for the Australian stock market since the global financial crisis of 2008, with The Australian reporting thats stocks are down over 8.7% for October.

4. The owner of English Premier League club Leicester City, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, was among five people on board a helicopter that crashed outside the club's stadium on Saturday night.

5. Police officers saved a kangaroo from drowning at Safety Beach on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula on Saturday. The kangaroo, which was resuscitated by the officers after being dragged from the water, is "in good spirits" according to police.
