4. Prime minister Scott Morrison is considering accepting an offer from New Zealand to take in 150 refugees from Nauru and Manus Island if a lifetime visa ban preventing the refugees ever entering Australia is also introduced.

5. One of the rarest minerals on Earth, reidite, has been discovered in an ancient metorite creater in Western Australia estimated to be 60-120km wide. The mineral has only been discovered on Earth six times.
