1. In the ongoing saga over a planned horse race promotion on the sails of the Sydney Opera House, Alan Jones has apologised to Louise Herron for how he spoke to her during a debate on his radio program last Friday. An online petition opposing the advertising on the Opera House has now reached over 235,000 signatures.

2. The S&P/ASX 200 had its worst fall in over six months yesterday, down 85.2 points or 1.4% to 6100.30 at the market close.
