5 things you need to know today

1. Prime Minster Scott Morrison has denied there is a bullying problem within the Liberal party, but has admitted "sometimes state members of parliament stick their nose into the business of federal members' areas" in an interview with 2GB.

2. The ACCC has suggested a review of the curfew on flights at Sydney Airport to help manage congestion. Flights are currently banned from taking off or landing between 11pm-6am, and a limit of 80 flights can arrive and depart each hour.

3. China is set to impose tariffs on $60 billion worth of goods from the US in response to the new tariffs announced by President Donald Trump. Over 5,000 products will be hit with tariffs between 5-10%

4. Alibaba founder and CEO has described the trade war as a "mess" and that it could last for "maybe 20 years". Alibaba shares have fallen by 25% since hitting an all time high in June.

5. Another controversial supermarket ban has been introduced, with Coles testing a ban on trolleys being used at self serve checkouts in about 20 of its stores.
