·      All 12 boys and their assistant soccer coach have been found alive by rescuers inside a cave in Thailand nine days after they went missing. Dramatic video captured the moment they were found by specialist divers – crammed onto a small slope of dry ground and surrounded by water. Outside the cave, overjoyed relatives rejoiced the miracle rescue.

·      Australia's basketball FIBA World Cup qualifier against the Philippines erupted into a major brawl Monday night, with nine Philippine players and four Boomers ejected during the third quarter. The chaos was sparked when Australian guard Chris Goulding was sent to the floor with a heavy shove. The match continued after with just three Philippine players still eligible to be on the court.

·      Fintech startup Airwallex has landed the second-largest fundraising round in Australian start-up history at $108 million. The Melbourne-based company saw investors including China’s Tencent Holdings and Melbourne’s Square Peg Capital. The company simplifies international payments.

·      Home prices have fallen for the ninth consecutive month at 0.2% in June, according to the latest CoreLogic property report. National property prices peaked in September last year and have since fallen 1.3 per cent to a median of $556,384.

·      Overnight in the US, the Dow Jones lifted by 0.15pc at 24,307, the S&P 500 up 0.3pc at 2,727 and the Nasdaq +0.8pc at 7,568. Meanwhile in Europe, the FTSE dropped 1.2pc at 7,548 and the DAX -0.5pc at 12,238.
